You’ll hear a lot of nonsense about print being dead from “well-informed” commentators, but I disagree print isn’t dead, the internet just caught up with the advertising side of things. 10-page ad spreads were rendered useless as soon as Google Adwords became a thing (thank God for that) but the creative self-indulgent minds behind some these newer titles are still alive and kicking. Plus who buys magazine’s for the ads anyway? I know I don’t. I love magazine’s as a form of contemporary Interior design, my dream is to collect every issue of i-D magazine before 2001 and have them stacked around my studio ready to be devoured when I’m short of inspiration. Support the magazines you love, don’t listen to the naysayers.
